Offshore Sharps Policies
I would like to know what the policies are for carrying insulin needles offshore and the proper methods of disposal, if there is not a First Aid Station or a Biohazardous Sharps Container on board.

Call or send answer by email.

Offshore Sharps Policies
OSHA has workplace policies about needle disposal, but does OSHA really apply offshore? MMS and OSHA share some responsibilities, but I couldn"t find anyone at MMS who was aware of any MMS policy. My suggestion would be that anyone going off shore should obtain one of the little personal Sharps disposal containers and take one with them. An example can be seen at www.safemedical.com Then they bring the container back to shore with them and mail it or turn it in. This would surely satisfy OSHA, please MMS and protect the environment and other employees.10/22/2004 2:40:00 PMlegend

Safety Internship
An undergraduate (senior) safety option student at Univesity of Texas at Tyler is looking for a summer internship sponsor
in the GCSTG. Will provide sponsorship requirements and program description on request by email or phone/fax 979/845-3857. The 8 - 16 week program should offer a learning experience to the student, and a minimum of 150 clock hours of learning experience is required for student to complete the internship requirement.

LA Incumbent Worker Program Administrators
What is an "LA Incumbent Worker Program Administrator"? Is this a state official with responsibilities for administrating the program? Danos & Curole has been successfully participating in this program and we have a person in charge of our training program, including that participation. He has been coaching and assisting other companies in gaining access to the IWP program. Is he an IWP Administrator because he administrates our program?3/18/2005 8:52:00 AMlegend
